Create the event
In the Filmriss app: name, cover image, how many guests join (up to 500), how many photos each one gets and when the gallery opens. Takes two minutes.
How it works
Filmriss is a digital disposable camera: you create an event, your guests scan a QR code and shoot with limited film. The next day everyone sees the pictures for the first time – at the same time.
Only the person creating the event needs the app.
The timeline
From the invite to the gallery: what happens when – and who sees what. You as the host on the left, your guests on the right.

You share the QR code or the link – in the group chat beforehand, for example. That’s all your guests need.
Lay the QR code on the tables, hang it at the bar or show it on a screen.
With the normal phone camera. The link opens the event camera in the browser – no app download, no account. Guests enter a name so everyone can later see who took which picture.
You simply shoot along – the photos-per-guest limit applies to you too. And you won’t see a single picture before the reveal either.
The film has a fixed number of shots, set by the host. No preview, no deleting – every shot counts.
The camera is closed, the pictures are locked away and get “developed”. Before the reveal the server hands out no picture at all – not to the guests and not to you.
Nothing to do. No album to create, no photos to collect.
Anyone who likes can leave an email address and gets the gallery link as soon as it opens.
At the reveal the gallery opens for everyone at the same moment. Browse it and download your own or all pictures as a ZIP – in original quality.
The app lets you know as soon as the gallery opens.
Anyone who left an email address gets the gallery link right then.
90 days after the reveal all photos are deleted automatically, the files as well as the records. Download your favourites before then.
Times are examples. You choose when the camera closes and the gallery opens while setting up – by default it’s the morning after at 10 am.
Visibility
The short answer: nobody before the reveal. After that, all guests – unless you set the gallery to be just for you while setting up.
| When | Guests | You as the host |
|---|---|---|
| During the party | No picturesNot even their own. | No pictures |
| After the event | No picturesThe pictures are being “developed”. | No pictures |
| From the reveal | All picturesThe default. If the gallery is just for you, guests don’t see it. | All pictures |
| After 90 days | Deleted | Deleted |
For guests
Guests only need their phone. What it looks like from their side is on the For guests page. Every question about storage and visibility is answered in What happens to the photos?
No. The QR code opens the camera in the browser, no account needed. Anyone who has the app installed goes straight into it.
That’s the whole point: just like a disposable camera, the film gets developed first. At the reveal, usually the next morning, the gallery opens for everyone at once.
Once you’ve created the event in the app. The QR table cards make it ready to print.
No. Every shot counts, and none disappears before the reveal.
90 days after the reveal. After that they’re deleted automatically, so download them before then.
Ready?
Creating an event happens in the app and takes two minutes. Your guests don’t need it, just the QR code.
